The Harford County Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol Commander, Maj. Jeff Koubek, relinquished command to Lt Col Eric Tiso in a ceremony Monday evening at their headquarters located at Harford Airport in Churchville.
Civil Air Patrol Group Two Commander, CAP Maj. Chris Howell, officiated the change of command and multiple Civil Air Patrol and community members attended the event.
Lt Col Tiso has been in CAP for 19 years with this being his second term as Squadron Commander. His last command was in 2007-2008. Prior to taking on the role as Commander, he was Deputy Commander of Cadets.
"My goal for the squadron," said CAP Lt Col Tiso, "is to build on the foundation that Major Koubek laid over the past two years so that we can more effectively carry out Civil Air Patrol's mission locally."
Lt Col Tiso joined the CAP as a youth and currently has a Master rating in Cadet Programs, a Senior rating in Emergency Services, Professional Development, and a Technician rating in Aerospace, Communications, and Finance.
"We are really excited about Lt Col Tiso taking over as Commander. He has made such an impact on our Squadron from the Cadet programs to our Emergency Services Search and Rescue team,” said Public Affairs Officer, Lt Tracy Urena.
