Virginia Beach will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in September and a portion of the festivities will be symbolic recognition to the many ethnic groups, small businesses and political groups that have played a major role in the thriving success of the city.

On March 4 from 6:00-8:30 pm, Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms and City Councilman Glenn Davis will host a facilitated dialogue inviting all Filipinos and interested parties to commence a discussion on how the Filipino community would like to be recognized and in what fashion.

The venue is the Virginia Beach Convention Center Suite 2. Please RSVP Cheryl T. Burk at 757-635-2749 or via email at cheryltburk@gmail.com to plan for a good estimate of attendees.

Fil-Am community leaders, representatives from various organizations, VA State Delegate Ron Villaneuva, Virginia Beach School Board Member Leonard Tengco are among the anticipated panelists or participants for this historic meeting.

Please view the video on your left of Councilman Glenn Davis speaking at Susan's Kitchentte on February 16 during the Fil-Am Community Dialogue.

Special thanks to Councilman Glenn Davis, Cheryl Teope Burk and Nony Abrajano for the information to produce this article.

This event is free and open to the public.
