Frankie Bellamy for Mayor 2013
Bellamy as Mayor will create a City Police University Division to work with Youngstown State University
Frankie Bellamy for Youngstown Mayor vows to create a Special City Police Division to work directly with YSU Campus Police department. While the city police does have a working relationship with the university police already, Bellamy plans to increase the “Foot Print of Protection” around the college. He plans to map student off-campus housing locations and their entertainment places for increased protection. The city communities that surround the university will be closely patrolled for detecting suspicious foot traffic by individuals at all hours.
Bellamy contends that university students, visiting families, faculty and staffers are becoming the new soft targets for local criminals. He says that “the university is a major anchor of the city and their safety should be placed at the highest of levels”. This new Special City Police Division will also encompass the entire city downtown location as well.
Frankie Bellamy places “Safety & Quality of Life” on the top of his to-do list as the new city mayor. He plans to use every tool at City Hall to achieve this goal to change the declining direction of Youngstown. His job is to lure and protect new families and visitors to the city for growth and prosperity.
