The Kickstarter fundraiser for City of Titans, the spiritual successor to the City of Heroes superhero MMORPG, launched at midnight and has already raised over $50,000 of its $320,000 goal. With 15% of its goal already pledged in just seven hours, the future looks bright for City of Titans and its developers, Missing Worlds Media.
City of Titans is one of the projects that began in response to the unexpected shutdown of City of Heroes in November of last year. There have been a lot of changes to the project, and to Missing Worlds Media itself, in that time, including staffing changes and a change of their chosen game engine. As a "virtual studio" staffed entirely by volunteers, the odds were certainly a lot to overcome, but if the initial response to the City of Titans Kickstarter is any indication, Missing Worlds Media is well on its way to overcoming them.
The City of Titans Kickstarter page includes a wealth of details about the game and its needed funding, including a break down of how the $320,000 is going to be spent, profiles of MWM's leadership team, and some hints about what we can expect from the game itself. There is also an extensive list of nice perks for donors of various levels, and stretch goals showing that MWM intends on bringing City of Titans Avatar Builder apps to Android and iOS.

UPDATE: As of 11:00am EST, the City of Titans Kickstarter is up to $83,000. That's over a quarter of the overall goal in just eleven hours.
UPDATE: Twenty-four hours after the start of the City of Titans Kickstarter, funds raised stand at $155,000, nearly halfway towards its goal.
