City of Mobile rescue truck stolen

A city of Mobile fire rescue truck was dispatched to a medical emergency call before daylight Saturday morning. While both emergency responders were inside the home attending to a person with a medical emergency a woman got into the rescue truck and took off with it.

The  woman that stole the rescue truck led police on a chase that ended up in shots fired and the woman running into a fire plug on dauphin island parkway. The rescue truck received some damage when hitting the fire plug but will be able to be repaired and put back into service.

The woman that stole the rescue truck faces a number of charges and now is held in the Mobile county metro jail.
