Cassandra Clare’s ‘City of Fallen Angels’ was more then the highly anticipated fourth installment of The Mortal Instruments series or another NYT bestseller to add to her accomplishments. The book was also the most quoted book of 2011 on Goodreads. Clare joked on her Tumblr that this could be the result of the ‘Love Explosions.”
‘City of Fallen Angels,’ as the rest of Clare’s Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices books, was embargoed. This means that no advance readers copies were sent out to bloggers or media for review. Because of this Simon and Schuster and Cassandra Clare had a unique and compelling marketing plan.
The book trailers for Clare’s series’ have taken on an obsession of their own among the fandom. Vania Stoyanova, the founder of VLC Productions does a fantastic job of creating compelling book trailers and has a lot of fun with extra content.
