People of God, most recently we have submitted to the process of growth to a higher level through personal development.

The beauty of the scriptures is this: God confirms our understanding through His inspired (first spoken) and written WORD.

Notice this scripture:

Jude 1 (King James Version)

Jude 1
20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

This passage starts by the writer informing us to focus on ourselves. Earlier in the passage, the writer mentions others and their diverse but yet ungodly actions, which may have a type of mind, spirit and faith pollution effect on us if we commune with such. But the twentieth verse basically states: but you, beloved work on yourselves!  Build yourselves up, not on things that are unstable, but things which come from communication (prayer) with God. These are holy things.

Moreover, the writer alludes to the fact that we will be assigned the godly quality (the Holy Ghost) which we will need to first: communicate with God, and second, to know how to deal with others.

Personal development is being able to work on ones’ self through receiving the proper aid or help in such an effective manner that we will automatically get God’s attention (through faith). We will then seek to help others, anyway that we can, effectively.

God’s plan is for each individual in humanity to DO THEIR ASSIGNMENT, which is to SERVE SOMEONE ELSE in humanity. We can accept this assignment or not. We were put here or appointed to do that which the scripture states in the 22 and 23 verses.

The only way this works right is for each of us to know that we will need the quality of God imputed to us or assigned to work with us (the Holy Ghost) to accomplish our heavenly appointment. This is why the scripture states that we keep ourselves in the Love of God looking at the great image of mercy created through and presented to us by Jesus Christ our Lord.

All of this is personal development.

Finally, if there is any fear that we will fall short of becoming a better person if we try, the scripture states that we can always look to and count on our God to keep us moving forward in our quest of personal development, self-improvement and ability to help others through the completion of our heavenly commission.

If there is something in our local community here in Detroit Michigan, or some program that God has revealed to us to become to be a part of here in Detroit Michigan, DO IT. If God has revealed to us that we need to do better, DO IT!

Personal development is described in the scriptures. Help within our local community, local churches and local schools becomes effective when we start with OURSELVES!

To Him who is able to keep us from falling, be glory, honor, dominion and power forever, AMEN!

God Bless!
