Recently, the Mayor of NYC, Michael Bloomberg, was called on the carpet for his city's implementation of what they call "Stop and Frisk". The courts told Bloomberg that this operation was unconstitutional. Now the City of Detroit is thinking about trying the same thing, even after the courts told "Nanny Bloomberg" that this type of police tactic is wrong.
Stop and Frisk is a police action where the police will stop anyone they want on the city sidewalk, park, parking lot etc, and frisk them for what ever reason they can think of and then arrest them if they have drugs, drug paraphernalia, or if they have outstanding warrants. All of this sounds good, except for the fact that in this country, you are "innocent until proven guilty"! Secondly, that makes everyone on the street a target of the NYPD.
But……”Nanny Bloomberg” will try to get away with anything! He tried banning large sugary drinks last year, and the courts told him that was unconstitutional, but he said he thinks they are wrong.
I vote that we name “Nanny Bloomberg” the number one anti-constitution Mayor in the U.S. What do you think?
