City of Chicago to host events for businesses

The City of Chicago Dept. of Procurement Services is hosting a "Construction Summit" on Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren. This is a opportunity for contractors, subcontractors, construction related business owners and those interested in networking for potential employment opportunities and to learn about construction and JOC upcoming projects.

Agencies participating include the city departments of Aviation, Transportation, Fleet and Facility Management, and Housing and Economic Development, as well as the Public Building Commission, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Park District, Cook County, Chicago Housing Authority, City Colleges, the State of Illinois, and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority. On Jan. 31, 2013 the City of Chicago and Chief Financial Officer Lois Scott will host the "Chicago Municipal Marketing Seminar" from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center-Preston Bradley Hall at 78 East Washington Street. The City is seeking marketers who are experts on generating new revenue streams by using City assets in new and creative ways.
