City dads to honor 156 community volunteers/commissioners

Milpitas, CA (April 12) -- Members of the City Council led by Mayor Jose Esteves will recognize 156 community volunteers/commissioners who have been helping the city government implement various services to the residents of Milpitas.

The recognition for the city commissioners will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Milpitas City Hall from 6:00 p.m., immediately after the council's regular session. A consolidated power point presentation of the accomplishments of all 16 commissions will be presented to highlight the affair, according to Dale Flunoy who is coordinating the event.

"The commissioners are a major component of the city's management team. I would say that without them, it will be hard for the city council and the staff of the city to extend all the services to the residents of Milpitas," Mayor Esteves said.

The following are the ever-dedicated volunteers of the 16 city commissions: Arts - Harriett McGuire, chair; Becky Strauss, vice chair; Bill Foulk, Marcella Anthony, Robert Gill, Robin Hays, Tess Santos, and Nicole Phan, commissioners;

Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory - Nawal Stanojevic, chair; Rene Briones, vice chair; Aaron Faupell, Antonio Pablo, Jr, Jose Leon, Christine Sanchez, and Chris Lee, commissioners;
