With 'Revival' only a couple of months away, it would make sense to start getting some hype built up behind it. As such, it was recently announced that Stephen King would be going on a promotional tour, hitting six cities all across the country in a week.

The cities were listed on King's website and have popped up elsewhere. The cities and dates are as follows.

November 11, 2014: New York City

November 12, 2014: Washington D.C.

November 13, 2014: Kansas City, MO

November 14, 2014: Wichita, KS

November 15, 2014: Austin, TX

November 17, 2014: South Portland, ME

Funny story, a couple of years ago (I believe it was when Under the Dome came out), I quasi-facetiously suggested that Stephen King should stop off in Wichita for one of his book tours. The reason for this was largely because I lived there at the time. I also found it amusing as it's not the sort of place you'd think of stopping for a book tour since that sort of thing is usually reserved for the bigger cities.

I'm not sure what the thought process was. It could just be coincidence, or maybe someone read that article years ago and had the idea tucked away in their subconscious this entire time.

In any event, as I no longer live there, it's quite clear that someone is screwing with me. I suppose that even if I were the catalyst for the stop (which, let's be honest, is a long shot), you could view it as a compliment; that someone heeded my advice. This is true, but I think playing the "fates are conspiring against me" card is a bit more humorous and entertaining.

Either way, I fully expect the people of Wichita to make it worth his while. Get a huge crowd together and be really excited and welcoming. Being America's heartland and home state of Superman, I doubt it will be a problem, but it would be a shame for him to make that drive (and believe me it's an endurance trial) with nothing to show for it.

As for the specific locations and times, those haven't been announced yet. That information is being kept tucked away, though the release says that said information will be released on September 15.
