Cirrus Aircraft maintains strength and growth over last 2 years

Cirrus aircraft today released their analysis of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association's (GAMA) third quarter report on general aviation (GA) airplane shipments.  The GAMA report showed a decline in piston GA aircraft of 6.6% versus the third quarter of 2009; however, Cirrus responded with a positive report on the companies airplane deliveries and expectations for the coming year.

In their media report and on their company news blog, Cirrus Vice President, Marketing, Todd Simmons stated that on of the 'most impactful' factors that was pushing up Cirrus' market share in the struggling market was the introduction of the SR22T, a turbo version of their best-selling SR22 line of airplanes.  According to Simmons, the SR22T 'account for nearly 40% of total deliveries.'  He added that Cirrus has also seen an increase in deliveries of new SR20's after the airplane recieved numerous updates and upgrades.

Cirrus President/CEO Brent Wouters mentioned a positive outlook for the company in 2011 due to the new depreciation rules going into affect along with generous trade-in incentives offered by the company.  He hopes that these factors, and an improving economy will lead to an even stronger year in 2011.

Some of the highlights listed by Cirrus in the release stated that they have delivered more 4-seat piston single aircraft than any other manufacturer to date in 2010 with the SR22 the best seller 8 years in a row.  Their year to date market share of piston single engine, tricycle gear aircraft is at an all time high of 35%.  In the 3Q of 2010, this market share stands at 49%.
