Cirque du Soleil has been pretty secretive about their Michael Jackson project. Various rumors have been floating around about plans for the show as well as when it will open and where. Well, Cirque has finally spilled the beans and tickets for the show are available now! The show will be called Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour.
Celebrity writer Robin Leach uncovered in an interview with Daniel Lamarre, Cirque's President and Chief Operating Officer, that the new Michael Jackson show will be the largest ever music show and it will tour for 4 years in 25 cities. However, this is just one of two MJ shows that Cirque will be putting up.
The first will be a rock concert type show and it will premiere December 15th, 2011. The second show will be a more theatrical permanent residency show in Las Vegas. It will be Cirque's 8th permanent residency show in Vegas and it will premiere in 2013.
Tickets for the touring show are on sale now and are expected to vanish like a smoooth criminal. If you are interested in seeing this monster of a performance, you can get your tickets on THE IMMORTAL official page or on Ticketmaster. Tickets are currently available to CirqueClub members and should be open to the rest of the public by November 5th.
To be honest though, as of noon on Nov. 3rd, it seems as though Cirque is still getting the official show site together. I expect this issue to be resolved shortly. The site should be back up and club members will be able to purchase tickets by the end of the day. To become a member, simply sign up on the CirqueClub webpage.
