Exclusive Oscars 2012 coverage – One of the best performances of the 84th Academy Awards had to be the Cirque du Soleil segment on Sunday night honoring the timeless age of movies. The special performance wasn’t just using the stage but also had performers above the stage and hanging off the rafters as the 50 plus performers working together for a flawless show.
The special three-minute segment didn’t just have the audience at home amazed, the celebrities and audience at the theater was extraordinarily impressed. Sharing the view of the best performance troupe in the country, it was the chance to see the talent reflect entertainment. Danny Elfman, who also composed the music for Iris, composed the music for the Oscar performance.
This is the second time the Cirque du Soleil have been honored to be on the Oscars stage. Back in 2002 the show had a smaller segment that was also well-received, but nothing as elaborate as Sunday night.
