Watching the performances at this past summers’ Circus Juventas spectacular, OZ, I was in awe. But when I learned that the talented performers were all local youth, I was extremely impressed. These kids were athletic, entertaining, captivating and clearly disciplined. I beamed with pride that our local community has helped to make the Circus Juventas performing arts program for kids, teens and young adults, a place where they can dedicate themselves to something creative and empowering. For 19 years, this St. Paul non-profit has nurtured abilities, strengthened confidence and inspired artistry in local youth with camps and classes.
Now is the chance to support the Circus Juventas programs during the Annual Gala, which is to be held at the Big Top located at 1270 Montreal Avenue in St. Paul on October 25, 2013 at 6 p.m. The gala features amazing table-side encore performances of select acts from OZ by actual circus students. Guests will also enjoy a multi-course dinner hosted by KTWIN radio host Brian “B.T.” Turner and the Star Tribune’s Vineeta Sawkar. Live and silent auction items will be available for bidding, with proceeds funding the scholarships for the circus school and their outreach efforts. The most impactful point of the evening will likely be hearing from the local kids who have been nurtured and supported by an organization that has truly made a difference in their lives.
Gala tickets are $150 each and may be purchased at Circus Juventas or online atwww.circusjuventas.org.
