Do you feel like you’re stuck in a no-win situation in your life? Regardless of what you are suffering, you do have choices; these options may be hidden beneath the waves of your emotions but they do exist.
I challenge you to think about this question, “Are you your circumstances?”
As defined by Google, the word circumstance means, “A fact or condition connected with or relevant to an event or action.”
This fact, condition or event you are struggling with is really just a snapshot of your journey, a moment in time. It is important to understand this because it isn’t your circumstance that is holing you back; it is your mindset that imprisons you. When you can separate you from the challenge you are facing, this perspective will free you from the self-imposed circumstantial prison surrounding you.
I often equate renewal to the beauty of a sandy beach. Think about how many experiences or stories take place each day as people leave their mark on the beach. No matter what these footprints mean or where they took each person, they are washed away by high tide leaving a clean slate of renewal daily at sunup.
Whatever you are facing, you must keep reaching out and trying new paths. If it didn’t work, your effort has still altered the circumstance in some way. Build upon this each day, in a new light and eventually with perseverance you will conquer.
Nido Qubein once said, “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.”
