A perfect game by 82-year-old Salvatore Ciranni and a near-miss 299 game by Thomas Lindenberger -- both in the Al Davis Memorial League at Bowland Port Charlotte -- highlight this week's Examiner.com report on bowling high-score performances in the Sarasota-Manatee-Charlotte County area.

Ciranni, carrying a 193 average, opened with a 300 game, then followed with scores of 160 and 182 to complete a 642 series. Lindenberger just missed perfection in his first game, settling for 299 after a final-ball 4-pin, and he finished with a 753 series that boosted his average to 232.

Jessica Hendrickson had the top performance among area female bowlers when she pounded out a 712 average on games of 233,222 and 257 in the C&L Awards Mixed League at Sarasota Lanes, where she carries a 15-game 188 average.
