This Wednesday, January 2, the Cinemark theater chain's Classic Series starts off the new year right with Stanley Kubrick's monumental film that redefined the science fiction film experience, the 1968 film, 2001 A Space Odyssey.
From The Dawn of Man to a far imagined future Jupiter Mission taking place in the year 2001, the film's calmly nuanced characters, amazing special effects and classical music carry the viewer to an ending that is either a step forward to mankind's new beginning or the beginning of it's destruction.
The film will play at three Cinemark venues in the Broward & Palm Beach area: Cinemark Paradise 24 in Davie; Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton; Cinemark Boynton Beach 14 in Boynton Beach. All theaters have two showings, a 2 pm matinee and a 7 pm evening showing.
Even though 2001 has been long available on Blu-Ray, this is definitely an event film to be seen in the theater during it's 45 anniversary year.
