Cinco de Mayo lemon margarita recipe

Due to the lime shortage, known as the limepocalypse in foodie circles, Mexicue is doing its part this Cinco de Mayo by changing up the traditional margarita using lemon juice in place of lime juice.

This margarita recipe is made with lemon and orange juices and just a wedge of lime.

This margarita is made with blanco tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lemon and orange juices.

Mexicue's Lemon Margarita

Yield: 1 drink

Ingredents:

1 1/2 ounces blanco tequila

1/2 ounce Cointreau

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce fresh orange juice

Lime wedge

Directions:

Fill Mason jar with crushed ice.

In a shaker, add 1 cup of ice, blanco tequila, Cointreau, lemon and orange juices, and shake well.

Pour drink into jar and finish with a lime for garnish.
