Cinco de Mayo, not to be confused with Mexican Independence Day, is a big deal in Denver. Mexican food is delicious!  Here's how you can make healthy choices as you indulge today.

  • Load up on fresh veggies, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa.

  • Salsa is a great vegetable snack. Try it with whole-grain crackers or baked tortilla chips.

  • Choose Mexican rice and don't forget the beans.

  • Stick to grilled seafood, lean meat, and poultry.

  • Use low-fat sour cream sparingly.

  • Choose corn and whole-wheat tortillas over flour tortillas.

Here are some things to do in Denver.  Even more to do in Denver.
