Cincinnati voters use Foursquare and Twitter to let others know they voted

Did you vote today? I did.  Other Cincinnatian’s voted as well, at least according to their Foursquare and Twitter updates.  In fact, a quick Twitter search yields many examples of local voters who are using social media to inform others they voted.  For example, Lizzy Frabell(Twitter.com/FrizzyLabell) posted the following message, “I voted! (@ Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Madeira Branch) http://4sq.com/cD1A2X”.  Similarly, Brian Polark (Twitter.com/brianpolark) informed others that he was voting through Foursquare.  His Twitter account, linked with Foursquare, displayed the following message: “I voted (@ cincinnati sports leagues office w/ @stephlhering) http://4sq.com/cteqUg”.

J. Long on Cincinnati.com writes about how Cincinnati voters use Foursquare in particular.  He points out that Foursquare is asking users to “Check-In” at local voting locations.  Users who enter the hashtag #IVoted in the shout out comment box are rewarded with an “I Voted” badge.
