Cincinnati police investigate the city's first homicide in 2013

Today was Cincinnati’s first homicide in 2013. Police have identified Christopher Williams, 24, as the deceased in a double shooting.

The second victim was taken to the University of Cincinnati for non-threatening injuries.

Cincinnati Police have arrested Omar Jackson, 29, with homicide for killing Williams and felonious assault for shooting the second victim. The homicide occurred at the intersection of Park Avenue and East McMillan after 1p.m.

After the shooting, police followed the suspect’s car into Eden Park, where the suspect jumped from the vehicle and tried to escape. The police found him trying to hide behind some bushes and took him into custody.
