The Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of Dante Cross, 24. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. this morning at 3332 Alamo Avenue.
After receiving a call about shots fired, District Two police officers responded to the shooting.
Cross was shot after a physical altercation with another man. Police found him on the second floor hallway.
The Cincinnati Fire Department transported Cross to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where Cross died. Police have said the death appears to be in self-defense.
The case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for further review. No motivation for the shooting has been revealed as neither man lived in the apartments. But police learned that Cross’s ex-girlfriend lived in the apartment.
Cincinnati police are still investigating and ask for anyone with any knowledge of the shooting call 352-3542 or text “CINTIP” and your tip to 274637.
