Cincinnati heads to Indianapolis this Saturday to play Naptown (Video)

People often ask me what I do in the roller derby off-season, that is easy, I wait for roller derby season to begin. For the Cincinnati Rollergirls (CRG) it begins this Saturday in Indianapolis when CRG takes on Naptown in a double-header. The Violent Lambs play the Warning Belles to begin the evening, with the Black Sheep taking on the Tornado Sirens in the Main Event. While this is not a sanctioned game, it will be a fun a great one with the friendly rivalry between these two leagues.

The last two seasons Naptown has represented the now defunct North Central region at the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Championships. The Tornado Sirens' last game was against the Gotham Rollergirls at the 2012 Championships in Atlanta. The Tornado Sirens are 4-6 in their last ten games.

The Cincinnati Rollergirls are 3-7 in their last ten games, which included a disappointing North Central tournament falling to Madison by 195 points, then to Arch Rival by 150. The ship was righted on Sunday when Cincinnati went over the Chicago Outfit by 14 points.

The bout takes place at the Indiana Convention Center with doors opening at 5:30 p.m and the first bout beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 presale or $17 at the door. For more information, go to Naptownrollergirls.com.

The horizon is beckoning and the long-waited home opener is just 60 days away. Be sure to get your tickets, you may see some familiar faces back on the track.
