As you are considering how the change in seasons will affect your wardrobe this summer, look into a consignment shop.  Consignment stores are a great place to pick-up a good buy and can help your family's budget in two ways.  First, they offer gently worn clothes for good prices.  Second, they'll pay you for your gently used or never worn clothes.  Always read the contract and understand the terms before signing on the line.  Different stores offer varying percentages and options.  Here are a few of the consignment stores in Cincinnati:

The Snooty Fox is a chain of upscale consignment shops, with seven locations, in the greater Cincinnati area.  Started in 1980, the Snooty Fox now deals with more than 100,000 consigners.  They offer clothing for everyone in the family, as well as bridal, maternity, and home furnishings.

Second Chance has three consignment shop locations in Cincinnati.  They specialize in women's clothing and accessories.

Plato's Closet now has 265 locations nationwide, four in Cincinnati.  They specialize in trendy clothing for teenagers, and most of the clothing they offer would have been found in retail stores no longer than 18 months ago.

Once Upon A Child advertises their merchandise as "kid stuff with previous experience."  They buy and sell children's clothing, toys, furniture and equipment.  They have over 200 stores in the U.S., with five in the greater Cincinnati area.

The Sonshine House (513-541-5095. 1607 Llanfair Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224) in College Hill buys and sells children's clothing, toys, and equipment.  The store's proceeds help to fund children's programs in the College Hill neighborhood.

Glad you included the Sonshine House in College Hill. It is a great place for name brand clothing for children and infants. I have found some great buys there and they are always adding new items to the floor. Another great place is the Legacy Furniture consignment shop in Hyde Park Plaza. Excellent for upscale furniture and house decor.
