On Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals organization reported the following roster updates:
The club terminated the contract of veteran LB Aaron Maybin and released him into free agency. Maybin had signed with the team in January. Had he made the team, the Bengals would have been his third team in five seasons.
He is a former Buffalo Bills first round pick (11th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft. After the Bills gave up on him after two seasons, he moved on to the New York Jets for two seasons. In four seasons, he has started one game.
John Butchko with Gang Green Nation said that Maybin struggles because of a lack of talent. He also said that Maybin is a hard worker and a good guy, but just doesn’t have the necessary tools to be an NFL player.
The Bengals also waived WR Tyrone Goard and CB Troy Stoudermire, both rookies.
Both men had joined the team as free agents after this year’s draft. Read more news about the clubs latest news at the Bengals website.
