Cincinnati Bengals promote assistant Kyle Caskey to running backs coach

On Friday, the Cincinnati Bengals announced that assistant coach Kyle Caskey will assume the role of the team’s new running back coach. He is an experienced coach and has worked as an assistant coach with the team’s offensive line. Hue Jackson vacated the running back coach position to assume the role as the Bengals offensive coordinator.

Jackson replaced Jay Gruden, who left the team to take the head coach position with the Washington Redskins. Caskey received acclaim as an up and coming young coach from head coach Marvin Lewis:

“It’s all been part of the evolution of a bright young coach, and the time comes when the opportunity’s there to become a position coach on your own. That’s where we are with Kyle, and it’s great again that we have the person in-house to promote from within.”

Caskey assisted in improving the Bengals offensive front line, which led to the Bengals finishing the season as one of best offenses in the NFL. Caskey played TE at Texas A & M and spent time as a college coach. He joined the Bengals in 2010 from the University of Mississippi. After earning a playoff spot, the San Diego Chargers eliminated the Bengals in the Wildcard round.
