While we all (including the perfomers) love the magic and wonder of the annual classic that is Nutcracker, it's always great to see the full variety of what ballet has to offer after January 1st. From the classics like Cinderella to the contemporary edginess of Forsyth, the idiom of ballet has grown to include something for almost any taste.
Cincinnati Ballet's March 22-23 bill is proof of that. In addition to the Balanchine masterpiece of Prodigal Son, the show will also include include more contemporary fare by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's Alejandro Cerrudo and a premiere by Cincinnati Ballet's associate artistic director, Devon Carney.
