Carnival Cruise Line's cruise ships are known as the Fun Ships for a reason, and part of that fun is indulging in a frosty adult beverage while you're sunning yourself out on the deck, enjoying some time in a club, or otherwise enjoying yourself. The cruise line's beer choices just got more intriguing with the addition of two new beers from Cigar City Brewing.

Carnival officially announced its partnership with Tampa-based Cigar City Brewing on board the Carnival Legend, which currently calls the Port of Tampa its home. The ship will now serve Florida Cracker Belgian-Style White Ale and Invasion Pale Ale on all 13 of its Florida-based ships. That's a nice bit of locally-sourced synergy for the Sunshine State.

I had the pleasure of trying both of the ales at the Red Frog Pub on board the Legend, and they both get a hearty thumbs up. My favorite was the Florida Cracker, but I'd happily indulge in either of the two beers. Florida Cracker is brewed with unmalted wheat, orange peel, and coriander. I think that the hint of orange is what draws my taste buds to this brew. The pirate-themed Invasion is a "session" beer, meaning that it has a relatively low alcohol content, but it's got plenty of flavor with fruity notes.

Click the slideshow accompanying this article to see the two new beers, as well as some scenes from the big announcement. There was even a large ice sculpture on hand which was christened with the two brews to officially seal the deal. You'll also see a couple of other Carnival adult beverages that I enjoy, including the Red Frog Pub's signature Thirsty Frog Red and a delicious mojito.

You'll be able to try the Cigar City Brewing beers on Carnival ships that sail out of any Florida ports, including Tampa, Port Canaveral, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.
