After the tryptophan hangover wears off and the Black Friday endorphins fade away, we'll all be ready for some extra helping of county teams playing in the CIF-SS Football semifinals this Friday, November 23.

That was one heck of a Thanksgiving Day segue...

PAC-5
Mater Dei (11-2) vs. St. Bonaventure (11-1) at Ventura HS, 7:30 p.m.
The secret to Seraphs winning season? They score a ton of points (660) and give up very little (allowing only one or less touchdowns in their last six games). Given all that and playing away, the Monarchs will have their work cut out for them.

St. John Bosco vs. Long Beach Poly (9-3) at Veterans Stadium, 7 p.m.
In Round 2 of the playoffs, we watched the Jackrabbits knock out the team that was slated to win it all in Mission Viejo. You can bet Coach Lara will have his team up and ready to do the same to the Braves at the friendlier confines of the Vet.

Southern Division
Corona del Mar (10-2) vs. Woodbridge (7-5) at Irvine District Stadium, 7 p.m.
The Warriors lost to CdM a few weeks ago in this very same venue.

Laguna Beach (11-0-1) at Garden Grove (10-2), 7 p.m.
The Breakers’ tie came against University in week 2. The Argos steamrolled through the league with a heavy run game.

Southwest Division
Foothill (10-2) vs. Edison (11-1) at Orange Coast College, 7 p.m.
Allowing only 58 points on the year including 4 shutouts, the Chargers’ defense has been the story of the season.

Villa Park (11-1) at Tustin (12-0), 7:30 p.m.
This is my pick for Game of the Week. The Spartan's only loss this season came against Edison in Week 3.

If you’re looking ahead, the CIF-SS Football Finals are as followed:
Southwest Division Finals – November 30 at Angel Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
Southern Division Finals – December 1 at Angel Stadium, 2 p.m.
PAC-5 Finals – December 1 at Angel Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
