When people think of the word healthy, they rarely ever think of the word pizza to go along with it. Superbowl is upon us, and all of the home party planning is now underway! While digging thorough some press releases, a touchdown came into play just in time for the Superbowl home parties.
Recently, Cici's has re-launched it's website, with new claims that it is "award winning" and that they were recently named America's Favorite Pizza Chain by Market Force. Considered a family favorite among all soccer, baseball, and football moms in Plano, it was interesting to find out exactly how healthy this pizza is that is being fed to the kiddos.
This restaurant chain has seven glorious items on it's menu that per serving are less than 100 calories. These items include four different pizza types, as well as the chicken noodle soup, and both of the salads. First up on the low-calorie list is the Italiano Pepperoni Sausage, and The Meltdown coming in at only 90 calories per slice. A person on a low calorie diet could have five slices of this pizza, and one glass of soda without busting their diet.
Next up is the Garden Salad, The Veggie Italiano, and the Ole which are only 70 calories per slice. The Ole pizza is one of their healthiest pizza's. Topped with shredded lettuce, cheese, and a salsa, this pizza is a sure fire hit for any taco pizza fanatic.
The last two options are the lowest calorie options. Chicken noodle soup comes with only 60 calories per 4oz serving, and the Italian salad has only 35 calories per 1/2 cup. Chicken noodle soup is a great way to chase away those football cold days.
Cici's pizza is also great for football fans with food allergies. Nothing in the store comes into contact with peanuts, fish, tree nuts, or shellfish. They also have gluten free options which include their garden salad, their Italian Salad, their BBQ Wings, and the Ole Pizza.
For Vegetarians, there are salads, the Veggie Italiano pizza, and pasta with pasta sauce. For Vegans, there is a salad with French Dressing, topped with imitation bacon bits, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, and with a side of saltine crackers or cinnamon rolls for dessert. There are no eggs or milk in the cinnamon rolls. So, for a touchdown, pizza healthy win, Cici's really delivers.
