In Lifetime's 'The Trip to Bountiful' Tyson, 80, played the role of Carrie Watts, an elderly lady longing to return to her roots in Bountiful, Texas, before she passes away, which aired Sunday night.

During the drama, Tyson continuously sings hymns at home with her son, (Blair Underwood) and daughter-in-law (Vanessa Williams) to keep her motivated and encouraged.

Tyson's son keeps her under strict watch, but she figures out an ingenious way to escape he and his wife's care by hiding her pension check from them and saving up money for her bus fare to Bountiful.

Applause for KeKe Palmer also, for the splendid performance she gave interacting with Ms. Watts on the bus trip.

Bountiful is the place where she grew up as a child and is hundreds of miles away.

As the word implies, Bountiful is a place where Cicely learned about life, she exclaims: "We can never lose what it's given us."

Do you have such a place in your life similar to Bountiful?

Bountiful represents:

  • Peace
  • Foundation
  • Memories
  • Friends
  • Sense of Pride
  • Hurt
  • Blessed Assurance

We all should take a trip to Bountiful every so often to remind us of how blessed we are. The song that Carrie Watts would always sing says,

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

Oh what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God

Born of His spirit, washed in his blood.

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long...

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long.

- Fanny J. Crosby
