Church Basement Ladies at Beef & Boards

The popular musical comedy Church Basement Ladies made its debut at Beef & Boards in front of a lively crowd that loved everything about it. The production, based on the books of Janet Martin and Suzann Nelson, has only five actors and is directed by Curt Wollan. Veteran B&B actor Eddie Curry stars as Pastor E.L. Gunderson, with co-stars Licia Watson as Vivian, Karen Pappas as Mavis, Katherine Proctor as Karin, and Lisa Bark as young Signe.

With several lively, funny tunes and some great physical comedy, especially by Pappas as the merry Mavis, Church Basement Ladies delivered a fun night showcasing the inner workings of the kitchen in the church basement of a Minnesota church. Mostly we hear gossip and family stories and little fights and see young Signe grow up from a college freshman to a new bride.

Church Basement Ladies' run at Beef and Boards has been extended twice now due to its popularity and now will run thru September 4. For show and ticket information, visit the B&B website or call 1-800-743-0503.
