Chula Vista woman beaten with brick in coma, ex-husband jailed

A man is in jail and his ex-wife is fighting for her life.

That is the result of an attack early Wednesday in Chula Vista, according to a report from the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Police stated that the victim may not survive her injuries, this the result of an attack where she was choked and struck a number of times in the head with a brick outside a residence in the 100 block of Twin Oaks Circle.

The suspect, reportedly a male in his early 60's, was taken into custody on the scene. The victim, reportedly in her late 50's, was transported to a local hospital.

According to authorities, the pair had been divorced and have one adult son.
