On Monday, Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., issued a tweet claiming March 24 is really March 31, the deadline to sign up for Obamacare, Twitchy reported.

"It’s March 31st, the last day to #GetCovered & see how #ACAworks for you!" he tweeted.

The New York Democrat was instantly schooled on the correct date.

"Check your calendar, idiot," one person said.

"Hey staffer. Check your calendar," another person said.

One person suggested that it wasn't the first thing Schumer has gotten wrong.

Another person thought Schumer may have been confused with the switch to Daylight Savings time, and one Twitter user suggested Schumer might be using the Mayan calendar.

The Blaze's Beckett Adams blamed the Koch brothers in a sarcastic tweet while another person suggested Schumer might really be in the future.

An hour later, Schumer's office issued another tweet in a lame attempt to cover up the mistake.

"Ah-ha! See how nervous you got when you realized you hadn't signed up for #ACA? Don't worry, still a week left to #GetCovered," the message read.

Judging from the responses that message got, no one bought the attempted spin.

"Nobody got nervous. It was just more proof you're not that bright. And ACA still sucks," one person said.

"With Obamacare, the joke's always on us," another person said.

Americans have until March 31 to sign up for coverage, and, Fox News added, the president has promised to hammer those who do not sign up for coverage despite carve-outs for his allies.

Meanwhile, over 55,000 have joined an online protest and have said they will not comply with the March 31 deadline.

Millions of others have said they will not comply with the deadline as well, Fox said.
