DanceAfrica Atlanta! features South African contemporary dancer and choreographer Vincent Mantose; traditional South African boot dancing from Lesolés Dance Project; works inspired by Mali, the Ivory Coast, South Africa, Guinea and other s interpreted by Atlanta’s Giwayen Mata; and master kora player and Griot Ba Cissoko.

Mr. Davis danced with Babatunde Olatunji's Dance Company, Eleo Pomare's Dance Troupe, and the Bernice Johnson Dance Company. Then in 1967 he formed his own company, the Chuck Davis Dance Company. A decade later he started DanceAfrica, a festival of dance, in 1977.

He also joined the faculty of the American Dance Festival in 1974. Started a second dance company, the African American Dance Ensemble, in 1983 and organized Cultural Arts Safari, an annual pilgrimage to Africa.

This celebration of African dance is a must see!
