Start the year off right with a legend, Chuck Berry and his Winter Dance. Don’t miss the chance to see one of the pioneers of rock and roll on New Year’s Day. He is known as the father of Rock and Roll. He was the first inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Chuck only does a handful of shows these days outside of his home in St. Louis. We’re lucky enough to have him kick off the New Year right here in Chicago.
The man has been covered by countless artists over the years. Think about how many times you’ve heard someone play “Johnny B. Goode”. Celebrate the 55th anniversary of his first hit, “Maybellene” for Chess Records in Chicago. He has had countless other hits such as “Roll Over, Beethoven!”, “Too Much Monkey Business”, “Memphis”, “Brown Eyed Man”, “No Particular Place To Go”, “Reelin’and Rockin’”, “Sweet Little Sixteen”, and 1972’s number 1 hit, “My Ding-A-Ling”. Click here to see a list of all of Chuck’s charted songs. At 84, Chuck is as important today to rock and roll as he was in the 50’s. As Bob Seger once sang, “All of Chuck’s children are out there playing his licks”.
