Death metal newcomers Chthe'ilist have just been added to Montreal's first-ever Wings of Metal Festival, a promising new outing that threatens to rip some heads off on Friday, August 30, and Saturday, August 31. The bill was shaping up quite well, including Midnight, the rarely-seen Voor, and British veterans Satan, in their first North American appearance.
For most American hessians, this fest means a plane flight and a passport, but Montreal is a cool city that offers a little taste of Europe for a quarter of the price. Now that our exchange rate is equal, the only thing you won't want to buy there is a book. Considering the rarity of the lineup, as well as all the fuss this column has made about Chthe'ilist alone, intrepid metalheads are encouraged to make the journey and see what the Québécois is all about.
