Chrysler recently sent me to Marquette, MI and up to KRC winter testing/driving facility in Houghton, MI for a slushy drive in two of their all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicles. The purpose of the event was to educate automotive journalists about their new AWD system and how well it works on poor traction surfaces.
The 2013 Dodge Charger and 2013 Chrysler 300 were both available, wearing all season tires.
Chrysler also supplied competitors such as the front-drive Toyota Avalon, Hyundai Genesis sedan and Buick LaCrosse. We had the opportunity to sample vehicle like these (which compete in roughly the same financial bracket) and the Chrysler vehicles all day amid whiteout conditions.
The Chrysler 300 Glacier Edition was on display too. Starting at $36,845, the Chrysler 300 Glacier Edition is a limited edition, AWD, winter-themed luxury package. It gets unique, 19-inch wheels, Blue Pearl Coat paint, higher end trim with black components and an updated interior to name a few upgrades. It also gets a massaged 300 horsepower V6 or the 363 hp HEMI V8.
