Keeneland Concours d'Elegance celebrates its10th Anniversary on Saturday, July 19.
More than 140 collector cars and motorcycles, most of them previous winners, will be judged. The featured class includes cars that won their guest marque class in previous Keeneland Concours. Also, there will be a collection of Ford Aero cars, NASCAR racers from the 1960s and '70s, on display as well as the Car Club Paddock with cool cars from around the region. There’s also a silent auction, an exhibition of world-class automotive artists, a Porsche raffle, the Wells Fargo stagecoach, and a number of other attractions throughout the day. The 36th annual Concours d’Elegance of America, which will take place July 27 at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, MI. This year’s event will feature more than 300 vehicles, including a rare 1919 Paige-6-66 Daytona Speedster Prototype and the first Nash-Healy Roadster. The event will also feature a display on the “forward look” cars of designer Virgil Exner and a number of vintage drag bikes. See www.concoursusa.org.
Members of the Edsel Owners Club (EOC) will gather on August 1 at the Double Tree Hotel in Miamisburg, OH. They will have a judging of cars beginning at 9:00 a.m. and you must be a member of the EOC to have your car judged. There is no charge for spectators. British Car Day in Dayton, Ohio is celebrating its 30th annual gathering on Saturday, Aug. 2. Organizers are expecting more than 325 cars. The event is presented and founded by the MG Car Club SW Ohio Centre and the Miami Valley Triumphs. The show gives awards in 37 classes plus the Rangers Choice, Longest Drive and Best of Show award is presented by the British Museum of Transportation. The cars will be on display on the lawn at Eastwood MetroPark on Harshman Road in Dayton. There will be vendors with new and used auto parts, memorabilia, full-service concessions and more than 100 door prizes for entrants. No charge for spectators. The 2014 Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion is scheduled for August 25-27. Monday, August 25 - Road Races History Day featuring opening ceremonies, photo presentations, roundtable discussions with original Put-in-Bay race participants, original course marker dedications, an escorted tour of the original course and welcome party. Tuesday, August 26 - Race Day at the Put-in-Bay airport. There will be races and track touring for non-race participants. This will be followed by burgers, beer and bench-racing at Joe's Bar.
