Christopher McDonald, was arrested in Wilmington, N.C. for DWI, after being pulled over by police in the early morning hours of Wednesday. Christopher, 58, had a .15 blood alcohol level, nearly twice the state's legal limit, according to TMZ on Oct. 16. McDonald is known for his roles in TV's "Happy Gilmore" and the movie "Thelma & Louise". The gossip website published his mugshot from this morning, and he doesn't look too happy.
Christopher was partying at Lagerheads Tavern in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. Tuesday night. Sources say he's in the area shooting the movie "The Squeeze".
Local Jonathan Mincher told TMZ that he was drinking some beers with friends at the bar, when the 58-year-old actor walked in with a friend.
Mincher says McDonald already appeared intoxicated. The actor was a sport though, even buying a round of drinks for Mincher and his friends.
One of the other unidentified guys sharing a beer in the group said McDonald was super wasted, so bad he was barely able to utter a coherent sentence.
Mincher says when he left the tavern around 1 a.m., McDonald was still going strong. North Carolina Highway Patrol deputies arrested the actor in Wilmington, and took him to jail at about 4:30 a.m..
The details in between are sketchy, as is the identity of Christopher's friend, but what ever happened to not letting a someone get behind the wheel when they're drunk?
McDonald was released at 7:20 a.m. this morning. His next court appearance on the matter is scheduled for Dec. 11.
