Christopher Dorner’s medals: From hero and hunter to being hunted (Video)

While Christopher Dorner’s whereabouts are unknown as of Friday morning, the U.S. Navy has released the records of shooting suspect Chris Dorner. The man who is today being hunted across two states was only a few weeks ago a hero.

San Diego’s 10News reported on Feb. 7, 2013, that “The U.S. Navy released Christopher Dorner's service record early Thursday afternoon to Team 10.”

Throughout his distinguished career, Christopher Dorner had service dates and assignments in San Diego, Bahrain, Nevada, and the mobile inshore undersea warfare unit.

Christopher Dorner’s outstanding awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal, Navy Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ “M” Device, Rifle Marksman Ribbon, and the Pistol Expert Medal.

Christopher Jordan Dorner’s biographical data shows that the 33-year-old’s home of record is La Palma, Calif., and that he was commissioned on July 3, 2002. He earned the rank of Lieutenant on Aug. 1, 2006. Christopher Dorner’s last assignment included “Various Reserve Units” from Dec. 1, 2009, to Jan. 21, 2010.

Christopher Dorner's service loss date is Feb. 1, 2013, only a few days before his alleged shooting spree began and the hero and once trained hunter became the hunted himself.
