The Christopher Dorner situation is still ongoing on Feb. 12 in Big Bear, California. That is where a standoff turned the alleged cop killer's place of refuge into a burning ball of fire after a SWAT team went in to try and finally end this prolonged situation. This story is being reported live on CNN and on other news channels.
Sadly, during this standoff on Tuesday, Dorner was hiding out in an abandoned cabin when he shot down two police officers dealing with the situation.
One of those police officers has recently been pronounced dead upon arrival at Loma Linda Hospital where the pair of law enforcement deputies who were wounded had been airlifted.
The other officer is undergoing surgery but is expected "to be fine."
Back in Big Bear, the violent standoff continues. Even after a press conference, nobody knows what has happened inside the cabin where Christopher Dorner is said to have been staying. Apparently, according to CNN, the burning cabin is equipped with a basement so it's unsure whether or not Dorner is still alive or even if he is still in the Big Bear cabin as he may have escaped.
For more information on this breaking story, read this story filed earlier and stay tuned as updates will be made on this post as circumstances evolve. At this point, the hope is that no more violence will take place.
UPDATE: Gun fire can not be heard as the cabin where Dorner has been hiding out is engulfed in flames. There has been talk about the idea that this alleged cop killer tried to escape through the back door of the cabin where he has been hiding. Sunlight is now limited and law enforcement is intent on finalizing this deadly situation before the night falls.
