As the massive search continues for Christopher Dorner, two more strategies for his capture were released yesterday. In an article published by Express on Feb. 10, it was revealed that authorities are now offering a $1,000,000 reward for information leading to his capture, which will most likely also end in his death. The Express also reported that Christopher Dorner is now officially a drone target.
According to ABC News, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck stated in a press conference that the $1,000,000 reward, which is also the largest in history for a local capture, is an effort pooled by businesses, government, local law enforcement leaders and individual donors.
This story has also opened the doors for an already controversial topic: The use of drones. Dorner, who is a former LAPD police officer accused of killing three people, has become the first official drone target in the United States.
The search for Christopher Dorner is, no doubt, one of massive proportions, with about 125 officials searching the rugged, snow-covered terrain of the San Bernardino Mountains yesterday, while more than 50 families are being provided with security and surveillance.
While some believe that Dorner is nothing but a dangerous and deadly lunatic that should be stopped by any means possible, others believe that there is more to the story than what’s being told, that he’s trying to reveal something to the public that can only be done with the amount of media coverage that this story is currently receiving.
Either way, it is more than apparent that officials are relentlessly seeking his capture. What makes him such a big target, a target worth spending so much man power, time and resources on? Is he just a crazed man on a killing spree or is it more complex than that? Voice your opinions below.
