Christmas with triplets after losing four babies is making one Mansfield, United Kingdom mother's holiday season extra jolly. Thirty-year-old Anna Mitchell and her wonderful husband Nick had nearly given up hope after three ectopic pregnancies and the removal of one fallopian tube.
Their Christmas miracle came in the form of money left to Mitchell when her mother died from liver cancer, according to a Dec. 16, 2013 report by YNAIJA. Mitchell's mother's last gift to her paid for the IVF treatment that finally made her a mother herself. Now, this Christmas, Mitchell will be celebrating with her three healthy babies. Her mother would be so proud of her and her growing family.
Understandably, Mitchell thinks of her three beautiful babies as a gift from heaven, sent to her by her beloved mother Nicola. By the time Mitchell's mother passed away, her daughter had already suffered through three ectopic pregnancies.
She suffered another nonviable pregnancy after her mother's passing, but her final attempt at in vitro fertilization was successful. It wasn't until her 13-week checkup, that she and her husband discovered she was carrying not one baby, but three. Now, she is looking forward to spending Christmas with triplets after losing four babies in utero.
Although there is no replacement for the lost babies or the loss of her mother, spending Christmas with triplets after losing four babies will provide some comfort to the new mom.
The Mitchell family has already prepared for the holiday by decorating their home. The new mother said, "I've decorated the house from top to toe, and I know that somewhere out there, mum is looking down on us. Having three babies has made up for all that heartbreak. And it’s all thanks to mum and her amazing gift that we are going to have the best Christmas ever."
