Put down the cell phone, turn off the computer, and, head for your television at 8PM and tune into NBC for the annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center! The 2013 show promises to be very entertaining, and, for those living in the New York City tri-state area, expect twice the fun because NBC starts the local broadcast at 7PM with the national broadcast joining in at 8PM. The show will be hosted by the always appealing The Today Show team of Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie and Natalie Morales.

This year's tree hails from Shelton, CT, and, the tree survived Superstorm Sandy so it could fulfill its destiny to become a Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. It is a grand 76-foot Norway Spruce, and, is donning 45,000 multi-colored LED lights and topped with a 9 ½-foot-wide Swarovski star!

If you plan on attending the lighting, hurry and get to Rockefeller Center. Now! Crowds are already forming, and, within the next few hours, the NYPD will begin closing streets around Rockefeller Center as needed. Mass transit is absolutely your best option if you're making you way to the tree lighting.
