Christmas pet adoptions at Newport Beach Petco a success

Santa Claus was definitely in town this last Saturday when several local residents played Santa for Pets. The annual Santa photos were free this year to all pet owners who brought in their pets to the Newport Beach Petco which is located on the corner of Bison and MacArthur Blvd.

A Wish for Animals, located in Dana Point, which is a non-profit dog rescue and no-kill animal shelter, was the main promoter this year and all donations from the days customers went directly to the shelter. The shelter brought about 20 dogs for adoption on Saturday, and six of them went to their new forever homes! Pet volunteers for the day included: Rebecca Raff, Linda Schmidt, Brandt Adams and Kristan Hager.

A Wish for Animals does many local adoption days at Petco's around Orange County. This Saturday, December 12, they will once again be at the Newport Beach location. There will be more Santa and pets photos as well as dogs available for adoption. Please visit www.awishforanimals.org for more information on how you can help, and to view all the dogs they have for adoption.
