When it comes to Christmas music for 2013, pop queen Mariah Carey has extended her reign with her classic holiday hit. The song, released almost twenty years ago, continues to top the list of best holiday songs according to Billboard's chart. Not only that, but Carey's song just recently surpassed a major milestone, as other singers such as Kelly Clarkson and Mary J. Blige have released albums to join in the holiday music fun.

A On Dec. 20 The Guardian reported that Mariah Carey’s hit song from 1994, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has sold its one millionth copy. The report notes that the song has sold consistently well each holiday season ever since digital downloads have been available. The highest Carey’s hit has ever reached was No. 2 on the charts, and then No. 4 in 2007, with the song currently at No. 12 right now. Reportedly, her song has hit the top 20 each year since its release with the exception of 2010.

Carey said of her song’s recent success:

Right below her is “Little Drummer Boy” by Pentatonix, with Brenda Lee’s classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song” and “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms rounding out the top 5.

Of course there’s plenty of newer albums on the charts right now from the likes of Michael Buble, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson and even Duck Dynasty.
