What are the Benefits of Cinnamon?

Quick! Close your eyes and imagine back to a time when you came home after a day spent in the icy cold, and you smelled cinnamon rolls. You were warmed over immediately, weren't you? Have you ever even wondered why so many of the recipes we love during the holidays like pumpkin pie and cinnamon rolls have cinnamon in them? (Besides the fact that it makes them taste good?)

According to Mind Body Green, cinnamon is a warming herb, and it's the reason why so many of our favorite foods that we associate with the fall and winter have cinnamon in them.

And the health benefits of cinnamon are many. Cinnamon helps the body regulate blood sugar levels. It's also great for people who have problems with never being able to stay warm during the winter. Cinnamon encourages the circulation in the body to work better and reduces moisture as well, which takes away the bone chilling cold we sometimes feel when we've skied a bit too long or just come in from pushing snow off the sidewalk.
