We start on the road towards Christmas
Thanksgiving is over. Black Friday bargains catapult us into a buying frenzy. Each year we become consumed with the planning, the parties, and the never-ending parade of cookies, candies, and ethnic holiday delights. Each year we spend our time decorating our homes, buying gifts for our friends and loved ones, and baking all the scrumptious calorie-laden delicacies that we can consume. Each year we share the holidays with our family and friends and of course our beloved pets.
Make your Christmas a jolly one
It’s an unspoken law that we pet lovers make it a tradition to share the holiday with our children with fur. Many of us find ourselves purchasing that special stocking for our pet and hanging it right next to those of the rest of the family. Our pets also have a gift under the tree. But thinking of Christmas brings to mind all the funny stories we talk about so fondly; those special memories that made our Christmas one to remember. The owner who was aghast when arriving home from work and finding the tree completely devoid of ribbon and fabric ornaments then soon discovering by observation that his tiny Shih Tzu had walked around the Christmas tree on her hind legs, carefully selecting all the ornaments that resembled a toy, then proceeding to pull off all the ribbons one by one. We can’t forget the surprise of one poodle’s owner when the dog opened every gift under the tree that had a scent - even if wasn’t meant for her to devour. Of course the fun isn’t limited to the canine population. One kitten climbed straight up the middle of the Christmas tree picking off each ornament with her paw and flinging them about the room. The honorable mention is the tiny ferret that burrowed through mounds of presents just to drink from the sweet sap water beneath the tree.
